East Zion Adventures, Zion Ponderosa and AdventureWomen have teamed up to create an incredible Outdoor Women’s Retreat. This multi-day, multi-sport adventure includes guided canyoneering in one of Zion’s secret slot canyons, hiking to dramatic overlooks in Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon, and a sunset horseback ride through southern Utah’s high desert, all while enjoying private accomodations in a Zion Ponderosa luxury mountain vacation home.

Welcome to Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort

From your first day in Utah, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery sure to inspire you. Your outdoor playground for the week is Zion Ponderosa, a 4,000-acre property on the eastern edge of Zion National Park. Zion Ponderosa is the perfect home base for all of the exciting outdoor activities that have been planned in conjunction with AdventureWomen.

Up here at 6,521 feet elevation, Zion National Park and East Zion sweep before you, with views stretching for miles. Your adventure begins with a hike to Observation Point, notably one of the most beautiful views in Utah. Many hikers make the challenging 4-mile trek to Observation Point from a starting point in Zion Canyon with a 2,500-foot elevation gain. We have a less strenuous yet equally rewarding option for you with a 3.5-mile trail that traverses across Zion Ponderosa property without the steep incline.

Outdoor Adventure Itinerary*

Day 1: Arrive at Zion Ponderosa Ranch, get settled in, and then enjoy a hearty and healthy welcome dinner and trip orientation.

Day 2: Hike to beautiful Observation Point in the morning. After lunch, go horseback riding or enjoy Zion Ponderosa’s amenities such as mini golf or tennis. Later that afternoon we’ll all meet up at the climbing wall for a rappelling lesson. It will come in handy on Day 6!

Day 3: Explore Zion National Park with an East Zion Adventures guide. You’ll see the major sights and visit some of the Zion’s best-kept secrets. Weather permitting you’ll even get to explore the world-famous Zion Narrows, with 2,000-foot high walls carved by the Virgin River. After lunch at Zion Lodge, we’ll hike to Lower Pine Creek Falls to a waterfall. This hike requires a bit of climbing and scrambling, but your East Zion Adventures guides will be there every step of the way! We’ll wrap up the day with s’mores around the campfire. After all that hiking, you’ve earned it!

Day 4: Get an early start with a sunrise hike. Two options are available: Angels Landing for thrill seekers or Canyon Overlook for expansive views of Zion. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the town of Springdale for lunch.

Day 5: Visit Bryce Canyon National Park, and head down Navajo Loop to hike amongst the majestic hoodoos. Soak away another day of adventures with an evening dip in the hot tub or simply relax back at your mountain retreat and delight in making new friends with your adventure companions.

Day 6: Today we’ll head out for a canyoneering adventure designed for all skill levels! Whether you’re an experienced canyon explorer or you’ve never tried it before, this adventure is always the highlight of the trip. Tonight we’ll toast to your success and to the end of this incredible adventure.
